Background
I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts where I specialized in watercolor painting, pen and ink, stipple, acrylic art, sculpture and printmaking. After graduation, I spent several years working in other fields. After retirement, we bought a sailboat, sailed to the Florida Keys where my love of sailboats and art collided.
I take God’s glorious colors of the sunrise, sunsets, and the water of the fabulous Florida Keys, then try to capture it with the uniqueness and excitement of its people, boating, and the wildlife in the area with my unique prospective. Ray Wood
Style
My work is heavily influenced by my travels and the cultures I have experienced. I am particularly drawn to bright colors and bold patterns, which are often reflected in my pieces.
Process
I am a firm believer in the power of experimentation and play in the artistic process. I often incorporate unconventional materials and techniques into my work, which allows me to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of my craft.
